I can recall a time in history when Target retail stores sold garments that were barely wearable. In more modern times, it appears major brand names have been adopted into Target stores and it is almost like it has become a decent place to purchase clothes. If you’re not convinced, maybe you just haven’t received word that upscale designer jeans label William Rast has officially been added to the impressive list of designer labels sold at Target.
If you are not privy, William Rast is a newish manufacturer of designer denim, co-founded by Justin Timberlake. This brand of designer jeans has been spotted on the lower halves of countless famous folk in Hollywood and also on television. You can bet they’ll be the most costly denim for sale at any Target in the country, but they are still available at Target. Doesn’t that just boggle your mind or what?
Back when I was a kid, I can recall being being incredibly bored while stuck at Target and pleading with my mother to buy me a $10 wrist watch. I cannot say for certain what other types of wrist watches were sold at the time, but I’m confident that there were many kinds that were all in the same general price range. Today, you can fidn many types sold there that fetch upwards of $100.
Another example was in my teen years. In the name of saving some money, my mother would buy me clothing from Target. At a critical time when the majority of my schoolmates were sporting cool, much more expensive, surf type brands, I was wearing random brand names like Mossimo and Utility, which were the hallmarks of Target back in the day. It was rather arduous, to say the least.
Things have apparently changed. Nowadays, shopping for clothing at Target is like the most trendy thing you can do. Who would have guessed?
